Ternopil State Medical University hosted a scientific conference on topical issues of simulation training
On February 1, 2017 Ternopil State Medical University held a teaching conference titled Topical issues of training students at the Center for simulation training: lessons and prospects. The conference was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the University. Participants discussed the problems of connecting simulation training with educational processes of TSMU clinical departments, the role of simulation training in acquiring practical skills, and the ICT utilized at the Center for simulation training.
Rector of Ternopil State Medical University, Professor Mykhaylo Korda opened the conference.
“Simulation medicine today is a rapidly growing industry worldwide. Simulation centers at medical universities take substantial space and are equipped with the latest technology. For instance recently we had an opportunity to see such university structure in Lublin. In Poland, the expenses of creating simulation training centers are often underwritten by the European Union. In our case, TSMU has created such center to encourage students to learn practical skill. In Ukraine, we are among the best and we intend to expand the center, bring it closer to international standards, “- said Mykhaylo Korda.
Head of TSMU simulation training center Myroslav Kritsak gave presentation on organization of work in this facility.
Head of Department of Ukrainian Research Center of emergency medical care and disaster medicine Vitalii Kryliuk in his presentation drew attention to shortcomings of simulation training.
Director of Ternopil State Medical University institute of nursing Svilana Yastremska talked about lessons and perspectives of simulation training in nursing.
Other presentations have also focused on practical aspects of operating simulation centers.
