Ternopil State Medical University opens admissions for the next academic year

On July 11 Ternopil State Medical University launched this year’s admissions campaign. Executive Secretary of the TSMU Admissions Committee of Grygorii Zahrychuk noted that the applicants for the first year of full-time studies, submit electronic applications. Those applying to start their studies at the second year, after completing a college degree have to bring their documents in person.

“Yesterday, too many people filled in the electronic application, and because of it the nationwide electronic submission system could not take the load and is having some technical problems with the submission of documents. After 3 pm the site was restored and everyone started to register. Thus, yesterday during the evening hours we received 200 applications, and in total on July 11 we received 225 electronic forms. Judging by these numbers, I can say that the number of entrants will be the same or higher than the last year “- said Grygorii Zahrychuk.

According to the executive secretary of the Admissions Committee of Ternopil State Medical University this year application period for the students entering the second year of studies is shortened, from July 11 to 20. They will start taking exams on July 21.

“Everyone is trying to apply as soon as possible. For example, yesterday we received 54 applications for the second year of studies on the medical faculty (licensed volume is 65 students), 17 applications for dentistry (licensed volume  is 60 students), for distance learning in pharmacy – 21 application (licensed volume is 55 students). Another specialty gaining considerable popularity in recent years is physical rehabilitation. Applicants show significant interest, so we are confident that all 30 licensed spaces will be filled, “- said Grygorii Zahrychuk.

It is important to note that the number of state-financed places at Ternopil State Medical University remains at the same level as the previous year, including 200 for the first year in the specialty of Medicine, four for Dentistry and five for Nursing. However, the total number of students the University has a license to train is larger, for instance  750 for the specialty of Medicine, 250 for pharmacy and 200 for dentistry.
