Ternopil State Medical University signed a cooperation agreement with Wyższa Szkoła Planowania Strategicznego in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland

On March 6, 2017 Vice Chancellor of the University of Strategic Planning in Dąbrowa Górnicza Roman Szopa met with Ternopil State Medical University rector Dr. Korda to discuss areas of cooperation.

This Polish institution of higher education has one of the largest in the country simulation training centers, used to train first responders and paramedics. The university also has programs training ambulance teams and emergency care professionals.

Talking about education in Wyższa Szkoła Planowania Strategicznego, Roman Szopa emphasized that students are taught all steps of the first response, from evacuation to transportation to appropriate facility, where a team is ready to provide medical assistance. All stages of the processes are carefully monitored. Experienced instructors and professionals analyze performance and take note of mistakes. This type of practical training is very effective.

Ternopil State Medical University is interested in collaboration with the Polish university to expand its first response and emergency medicine study programs and improve its simulation training center.

Another topic discussed during was implementation of the program of academic exchanges, developing joint training programs, and participation in grant research projects.

After the meeting, the parties signed a cooperation agreement.
