Ternopil State Medical University uses the latest in educational technology

Ternopil State Medical University is the first medical school in Ukraine to implement the program Body Interact – clinical reasoning education in the teaching process. This program  presents virtual clinical scenarios, allowing teachers and students to recreate particular clinical situations in real time, supplement it with all the required physical, laboratory and instrumental tests and prescribe treatment in accordance with modern protocols of European and American medical associations.

Body Interact is used in most Western European, US, and Canadian medical universities. Partners and key developers of the Body Interact program are medical groups such as the European Society of Cardiology, the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association , the American Stroke Association, Mayo Clinic , and others.

In TSMU, the program is being used for teaching sixth year students and clinical residents.

Today Lecturers of the Departments of Internal Medicine, Emergency Medical Care Department, and simulation center train sixth year students using 11 clinical emergency scenarios. Use of innovative approaches in the professional training greatly helps the students to enhance their theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills, improving overall quality of their education.
