Ternopil State Medical University Will Cooperate with Batumi Medical University and Adjara Medical Clinics

During the celebration of National Flag Day and Independence Day in Ternopil on a delegation from Autonomous Republic of Adjara (Georgia) was on an official visit. The delegation consisted of medical representatives, such as Deputy Minister of  Healthcare Zurab Teneshvili, director of the medical center Mikhail Artmeladze, director of a medical center “Medina” in Batumi Dzhumber Unhiadze, director of a medical center Iraklij Narakidze, director of Batumi regional center for infectious diseases, AIDS and tuberculosis Dumbadze Jemal, director of Batumi Republican Hospital Malkhaz Halvashi and people’s diplomat Gocha Arobelidze. They all met with Professor Mykhailo Korda, the rector of Ternopil State Medical University.

Mykhailo Korda introduced the guests to research and evaluation achievements and innovations of Ternopil Medical University.

The guests from Georgia are interested in cooperation with Ternopil State Medical University. During the meeting a number of cooperation possibilities were discussed. They are: delegating Georgian doctors for short-term training courses, studying of Georgian youth in Ternopil State Medical University, student participation in International Summer Schools. The representatives of the Ajarian delegation also offered the opportunity of the internship for students of TSMU in Batumi hospitals.

Other delegation members emphasized that they had discovered a part of Europe in Ternopil and TSMU that has great prospects for development.
