The Alumnus of Ternopil State Medical University Has Been Elected for a Position of the President of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine

On January 15 the Academician, Honorary Personality of Ukraine in the Area of Science and Technology, Deputy Director and the Head of the Department of Reconstructive and Functional Neurosurgery of the Institute of Neurosurgery, the Head of the Department of Neurosurgery of Bogomolets National Medical University Professor Vitalii Ivanovych. Tsymbaliuk has been elected for a position of the President of NAMS of Ukraine. This event is very prominent for TSMU, because Vitalii Ivanovych is the alumnus and the Honorary Professor of Ternopil State Medical University.

Vitalii Tsymbaliuk is a famous scientist, doctor and inventor in Ukraine and abroad. He is the coordinator and head of a new direction of Neurosurgery the Restorative Neurosurgery. He developed and implemented into clinical practice new neurological surgeries for the nervous system recovery. So, neural transplantation as a new direction of National medicine has appeared. Currently he studies the influence of neuronal stem cells on the nervous system in experiment and clinical practice.
