The Federation of TNMU Students from Pakistan has Elected a New President

For better coordination of cooperation, mutual understanding and organization of educational, home, communicative processes and intensification of extracurricular activities at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University on a voluntary basis, associations of foreign students have been established. Representatives of each country unite in a kind of fellowship, elect leaders and delegate to them the rights and responsibilities to represent students’ interests at university administration, to establish a constructive dialogue with representatives of other countries, city residents.

The regular elections of leadership of the Federation of Pakistan TNMU Students took place on April 24, 2021. Sixth-year students Muhammad Faizan and Nayab Hussein were its moderators.

Prior to the elections, ex leaders Akshay Kumar, Nayab Hussein and Ghazal Shah reported on their work. Akshay Kumar said that training should be a priority for every Pakistani so that they would not be ashamed to come back home. “, you represent Pakistan in TNMU, and when you go back home you represent your alma mater, which actually provides a lot of opportunities for learning, self-development, development of practical skills needed in medical practice,” added the previous president of the federation.

Two teams competed for the right to be the leader; each of them had a preliminary opportunity to present their programs and visions of the FPS development. Voting took place by filling out a Google form.

Raj Kumar (group IM-552) received the majority of votes and became the next president of the Federation of Pakistan Students, and Aksu Shah (group IM-449) was elected a vice president.

The newly elected team thanked Akshay Kumar, ex-president of association and vice presidents Nayab Hussein and Ghazali Shah for their work. The students also appreciated the Deputy Director of the Centre for Educational Work and Cultural Development of TNMU, Associate Professor Olena Pokryshko for organizing transparent elections. The team is also grateful to Dr. Shazad Najam and Dr. Ali Razi for their support of the Pakistani student community.
