The First Stage of All-Ukrainian Olympiad in Dentistry Was Held at TNMU

The 1st stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Dentistry was held at TNMU Faculty of Dentistry. The purpose of the event was to find gifted students, improve the quality of training of qualified specialists, and intensify educational activities.

The organizers of the Olympiad were the graduating departments of the Faculty of Dentistry. The students’ knowledge was assessed by a jury composed of Svitlana Boitsaniuk – Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Nadiia Manashchuk – Associate Professor of the Department of Dental Therapy, Olga Stakhanska – Associate Professor of the Department of Orthopaedic Dentistry, Ivan Stefaniv – Assistant Professor of the Department of Dental Surgery, Yurii Martyts – Assistant Professor of the Department of Paediatric Dentistry.

The fifth-year students of the Faculty of Dentistry took part in the 1st stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad. Students performed written tasks in dental therapy, dental surgery, orthopaedic and paediatric dentistry: they solved situational problems regarding the assessment of the condition of patients, establishing a preliminary diagnosis based on the data of an objective examination, interpreted the results of additional methods of X-ray research in dental diseases, provided the characterization and purpose of tools, orthodontic devices, etc. All participants’ answers were evaluated by the jury members.

The winners of the Olympiad were:

– first place: Daryna Zarudna (group 503), Liubov Silich (group 505);

– second place: Bohdana Bila, Diana Pryimak (group 505);

– third place: Khrystyna Pohorilets (group 505), Khrystyna Khodyn (group 501).

The winners were awarded certificates, all participants received prizes.
