The Latest Approaches in Pancreatology Were Discussed at an International Conference in Ternopil State Medical University
On October 1-2 an international research and training conference “The latest world achievements in pancreatology. Problems of diagnostics, treatment and diet in cases of pancreatic and comorbid diseases” took place in Ternopil State Medical University. It was held by the non-governmental organization “Association of Family Doctors in Ternopil Region” in cooperation with Ukrainian club of pancreatologists chiefed by its President, Professor Natalia Huberhrits. The event was supported by the university administration: the rector of TSMU Professor Mykhailo Korda, the vice-rector for research Professor Ivan Klishch and vice-rector for science, education and clinical affairs Professor Stepan Zaporozhan. 500 doctors in different areas, such as family doctors, therapists, pediatricians, gastroenterologists and surgeons, took part in it. More than 30 reports by professors and scientists from different regions of Ukraine, as well as from India, were presented. The doctors from Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv could also join the event online and participate in scientific discussions.
The surgical part of the international conference was very interesting and useful. Dr. Philip Abraham (India) presented a report on “Severe acute pancreatitis: a new therapy in Indian experience” in a videoconference (Ternopil – Kyiv – Zaporizhzhia).
The presenters and guests of the Research and Training Conferencewere from all over Ukraine: Ternopil, Kyiv, Lviv, Uzhgorod, Vinnytsia, Chernivtsi, Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, Donetsk, Kramatorsk, Slaviansk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernivtsi, Zaporizhzhya and from India.
The guests liked Ternopil State Medical University and noted the high level of university supplies and facilities, a warm welcome and proper arrangement of the conference. The tour to Zbarazh castle and visit to Pochayiv Lavra was a part of the event program.
