The Researchers of TSMU Trained at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

On October 5-30 the Professor of the Department of Children’s Diseases and Pediatric Surgery, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of I.Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University Oksana Boiarchuk trained at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) due to the of international exchange program Erasmus Mundus MEDEA (staff exchange).

The training was held at the Department of Children’s Diseases Papageorgiou General Hospital in Thessaloniki. It has 35 beds. General hospitals are widespread in Greece. They have departments of children’s diseases and beds for children in other specialized departments (surgery, otolaryngology, orthopedics, etc.).

Professor Euphemia Papadopoulou was the training supervisor. She is one of the leading experts in clinical immunology in Greece and Europe. Professor Oksana Boiarchuk got acquainted with the work of the laboratory, where immunological examinations are performed; vaccination schedule; educational process at the university and residency training in Greece. She also delivered a lecture for students, resident trainees and teaching staff of the department on “Acute rheumatic fever in children”.

During the training at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Professor Oksana Boiarchuk had an opportunity to improve skills in pediatrics, pediatric immunology, cardiology and rheumatology, and to share experience in diagnostics and treatment of children’s diseases for further implementation of new evidence based methods of diagnostics and treatment into present-day clinical practice. This event will facilitate further cooperation between the Ternopil Medical University and the Faculty of Medicine of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
