The Scientists of Ternopil State Medical University Studied the Development of Emergency Medical Care in Ukraine during the Research Conference in Poland

On October 26-28 the Head of the Department of Disaster and Military Medicine of I.Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University Professor Arsen Hudyma took part in the II Ukrainian-Polish Research Conference “Emergency Medical Care in Poland and Ukraine”. It was held in the village Ublik (Warmia-Masuria Province). This is the second conference during which the main achievements of emergency medical care in both countries are highlighted. The first one was held in September 2014 in Ivano-Frankivsk. Such events take place because of constant cooperation of Ivano-Frankivsk Center of Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine, chaired by Volodymyr Pokhmurskyi, and representatives of Emergency Medical Care Services in Poland.

 The Polish facilitator Robert Golonskovski chairs the Helicopter Emergency Medical Care in Poland and comes from Ukraine. The scientists from Warsaw Medical University and emergency medical care leaders from various provinces, who supplied Ukraine with ambulances, equipment, medicines and medical devices during Euromaidan and from the very beginning of ATO, took part in the conference.

Professor Arsen Hudyma was a member of the conference scientific committee, the Head of one of the conference sessions and reported on “Emergency medical care of Ukraine completely meets international requirements and standards in cases of mass emergency”.

All this proves that Ukraine is improving to completely meet international requirements and standards in cases of mass emergency.

The next Polish-Ukrainian research conference “Emergency medical care in Poland and Ukraine” will take place in Lviv in 2016.
