The Students of TSMU Visited the Wounded ATO Soldiers
The students of I.Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University are very sympathetic and have desire to help those who faithfully defends Ukraine in Eastern Ukraine. On October 31 the sixth year students of group 17 went to Kyiv for a charity purpose. The students of TSMU Tatiana Pliashko, Iryna Trotsiuk, Oksana Tsisar, Maria Chaikovska, Olha Mudra, Vadym Liubashevskyi, Bohdan Kasianiuk, Mykola Morosa, Mikhailo Marshchevskyi together with their supervisor Associate Professor of the Department of Children’s Diseases and Pediatric Surgery Tamara Vorontsova visited the National Military Medical Clinical Centre and delivered humanitarian supplies from Canada: medical equipment for the intensive care unit. The students also prepared some presents and groceries for the wounded soldiers and visited them in Infectious and Maxillofacial Surgery Departments.
These young people prepared for the trip carefully. First of all, the rising doctors asked for help the teachers and students of Staropetlykiv School, Kozova District Students Activity Center, Kordyshiv school of Shumsk district and the priests of St. Basil church in Volodymyr-Volynskyi. The representatives of these institutions helped to raise money and the children made very nice gifts by themselves. The students also made a financial contribution for the wounded soldiers to prepare treats and presents. Some goods (cookies, candies, meat groceries) were purchased for these funds.
Our creative band “Primavera” presented a musical performance in the clinical center for its patients. Such surprise touched the hearts of the wounded soldiers and they were very grateful to the young people.
The students of TSMU also had a meeting with a leading architect of Kyiv Heorhii Kurovskyi who delivered a lecture on the history of Kyiv and modern architecture and presented his book “The Image of Kyiv” to each student.
“In the evening we had an opportunity to enjoy a walk in Kyiv. I am convinced that our youth are very nice people who have understanding hearts and noble thoughts. I was very impressed of their deeds and sympathize to others. The meeting at the hospital was very useful for all of us, because the students could communicate with the military, and the soldiers felt our love and support,” – Tamara Vorontsova said.
