Recently the Rector of the Pope John Paul II State School of Higher Education in Biala Podlaska, Poland Professor Józef Bergier and the Rector of Ternopil Medical University Professor Mykhailo Korda signed a cooperation agreement on implementation of joint educational program for students’ gaining two bachelor’s degrees in nursing. According to this document the TSMU students will study for three years in their Alma Mater. They will continue studying at the State Higher School named after Pope John Paul II State School of Higher Education in Biala Podlaska for the final year of traineeship.

This offers an opportunity to obtain two diplomas: a bachelor’s degrees in nursing (State School of Higher Education, Poland) and a bachelor’s degree in nursing (Ternopil State Medical University, Ukraine). So the Ukrainian students are going to have more opportunities for successful employment abroad.

To be noticed is that nursing is a very popular profession. It is completely independent and in-demand on a job market.

The selection of participants for this program will take place only within the native university. Their study there will be part time. These young people are not obliged to pay the entry fee at the Pope John Paul II State School of Higher Education in Biala Podlaska. However, they can’t make a claim to any scholarships provided by this Polish university or by the Government of the Republic of Poland.

The tuition at the Pope John Paul II State School of Higher Education in Biala Podlaska the students of TSMU will pay directly to the Polish university. In return the international partner will provide future medical workers with support and advising on accommodation, procedural issues dispatch, such as visa and temporary residence permit obtaining in the receiving country, the best possible leisure.

Project Implementation Coordinator is TSMU Institute of Nursing.

Soon our university starts a similar program with the Pope John Paul II State School of Higher Education in Biala Podlaska in “Human Health” (a bachelor’s degree in speciality of physical rehabilitation therapist).

Hopefully the young people will seize this opportunity and will be dignified employees abroad!
