TNMU Graduate Mariana Mamonova was Released from Captivity

Our graduate Mariana Mamonova (née Cherepushko) is a medical service captain who served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine for more than 3 years. On September 21, 2022, she returned home from Russian captivity. The woman was in the hands of the occupiers for six months while pregnant. In a few days, Mariana is due to give birth to a child.

Mariana Mamonova studied at Ternopil Medical University (graduation year 2015), completed her Master’s degree at the Kyiv Military Medical Academy, then served in the 36th Separate Marine Brigade of the 501st Battalion in Berdiansk.

Until February 24, 2022, she was in military hospitals in the war zone with soldiers and wounded. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the doctor has been in Mariupol, where she was captured in Illich Steel and Iron Works in early April.

Ternopil National Medical University appealed to all international human rights organizations with a request to help free our graduate from captivity.

We are very happy to have her back, and we express our appreciation to her excellent service and medical duties. We wish Mariana all the best!

Reference: a total of 215 defenders of Ukraine returned home on September 21, 2022, including 108 Mariupol defenders.
