TNMU Graduate Was Posthumously Awarded the Third Class Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky

Oleksandr Prokopchuk, a graduate of TNMU in 2019, was posthumously awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, third class, by decree of the President of Ukraine (December 8, 2023 No. 818/2023). Oleksandr Prokopchuk was a military doctor, lieutenant of the medical service of the 128th brigade.

The Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky is a state award of Ukraine, which is intended to honour citizens of Ukraine for special merits in the protection of state sovereignty, territorial integrity, and in strengthening the defence capability and security of Ukraine.

Oleksandr Prokopchuk died on February 11, 2023, during the evacuation of wounded comrades from Bakhmut. He was born in the village of Berezhnytsia, Rivne region, and was the son of the abbot of the Church of the Holy Nativity of the Virgin in the Dubrovnik community.
