TNMU honoured Taras Shevchenko, the Great Kobzar

There is a day that is always with us. It absorbed the immortality of the nation, the memory of the people. March 9 is the day when the world honours the man, the master of the word and the brush, the legend of our people, the Great Kobzar. Taras Shevchenko has become a symbol of will, independence, resilience, which is the most valuable and the most precious for every Ukrainian.

Each year, teaching staff of the Ukrainian Language Department of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University pay tribute to Taras Shevchenko. Traditionally, a number of events were held to commemorate Kobzar’s birthday.

Professor A. V. Vykhrushch with students of the Medical Faculty participated in the discussion of the speech of the famous writer and publisher Ivan Malkovych at the presentation of the Shevchenko Prize.

Associate Professor V. I. Zevako and Associate Professor I. Ya. Zalipska with the medical students conducted a literary intellectual game on the works of T. H. Shevchenko. Students answered questions, solved logical tasks, and recited poems.

     

Associate Professor I. I. Havryshchak told about different editions of the great Kobzar’s works, about his legacy and rare books.

Teacher O. A. Mysyk and Associate Professor L. P. Sheremeta showed a video about Taras Shevchenko to international students. They were familiarized with Kobzar’s biography, his artistic creativity, and also enjoyed the poetic word of a brilliant poet.
