TNMU hosted the 7th Scientific Symposium “Immunopathology in Respiratory and Digestive Diseases”

On October 8-9, 2019, the 7th Scientific Symposium with international participation “Immunopathology in Respiratory and Digestive Diseases” was held at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.

The Symposium encompassed the following scientific and practical areas:

1. Recent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of immunological disorders in the clinic of internal medicine and phthisiology.
2. Immunopathology in the respiratory tract.
3. Immunopathology in the diseases of the digestive system.
The symposium was attended by almost two hundred specialists in the field of immunology, pulmonology, allergology, phthisiology, gastroenterology, GPs – family medicine from all over Ukraine and from abroad.

The Symposium participants were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Science of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, Prof. Ivan Klishch.

As part of the Symposium, 2 plenary and 2 sectional meetings were held, at which 79 presentations were made.

The President of the Association of Allergists of Ukraine, Prof. Serhii Zaikov presented his report on «Bronchial obstructive syndrome in clinical practice».

Specific interest was presented by the report of TNMU Professor Ihor Hospodarskyi on “Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis: problems of diagnosis and therapy”.

 

TNMU Professor Oksana Boiarchuk made a presentation on “Interstitial lung diseases in children – challenges of today”.

The reports of TNMU professor Leonid Hryshchuk and professor of Lviv National Medical University Yurii Valetskyi were devoted to the modern problems of phthisiology.

Regional immunologist, Ph.D. in Medicine Khrystyna Hospodarska gave a presentation on “Immunocorrection in patients with recurrent herpetic infection”.

Associate Professor of TNMU Iryna Smachylo made a presentation on “Modern aspects of diagnostics and treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases”.

Associate Professor of Lviv National Medical University Svitlana Zubchenko made a presentation “Modern methods of diagnosis of allergic diseases in Ukraine”.

Professor of Bukovyna State Medical University Liliia Todoriko presented a report on “Modern Pharmacotherapy of Cough Symptoms in Respiratory Diseases Against Immunodeficiency”.

She also presented a collaborative work with co-authors from Moldova “Evaluation of tuberculosis patients depending on socio-medical factors in a high burden region” – Lesnic E. (Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova), Todoriko L . (HSEE “Bukovinian State Medical University” Chernivtsi, Ukraine), Niguleanu A. (Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova), Yeremenchuk I. (HSEE “Bukovinian State Medical University” Chernivtsi, Ukraine), Semianiv I. (HSEE “Bukovinian State Medical University” Chernivtsi, Ukraine).

Within the Conference several workshops took place. During one of them, dedicated to the treatment of obstructive syndrome, a modern method of teaching was presented for the first time. Interns and senior students taught general practice-family medicine doctors the peculiarities of the use of modern nebulizers of different types, under the guidance of Associate Professor Nadiia Reha.
