TNMU hosted an All-Ukrainian scientific-practical conference “Prospects for the development of medical and physical rehabilitation at different levels of medical care”

On October 17-18, 2019, at I.Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation “Prospects for the Development of Medical and Physical Rehabilitation at Different Levels of Medical Care” was hosted. The event is organized by the Departments of Medical Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy, Ergotherapy and Physical Education. Leading experts from all parts of Ukraine, including Kramatorsk, Rivne, Odessa, Lviv, Lutsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, etc. participated in the event. During Conference Meetings, 44 scientific reports were presented and discussed.

Prof. Stepan Zaporozhan, Vice-Rector for Science, Education and Clinical Affairs, delivered a welcoming speech. He wished success and fruitful work to the participants of the Conference, paying specificattention to the relevance of the theme of the event.

The welcoming speech was delivered by the Chief Physician of the Bilche-Zolote Regional Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Hospital, Honored Doctor of Ukraine Lyubomyr Synoverskyi, who emphasized that the problem of rehabilitation and restoration of physical, psychological and social health in human life is currently relevant worldwide. In his speech, he noted that the professions of “physical therapist” and “ergotherapist” were included in the occupational classifier, and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine was reorganizing the existing regulatory framework to create jobs in institutions for such specialists.

The first plenary session was started by Professor I.R. Mysula with a report “Implementation of the Erasmus + program at TNMU – the way to the implementation of European standards for the education of masters of physical rehabilitation”.

Professor V. M. Sokrut presented a joint report by 5 researchers from different educational establishments of Ukraine. The topic of the report is “Vegeto-homeokinetic health theory”.

The report on “Conceptual bases of physical rehabilitation of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease” was presented by Professor I. M. Hryhus, Acting Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Health, Head of the Department of Human Health and Physical Rehabilitation of the National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use.

The report on “Medical rehabilitation of children with type 1 diabetes with concomitant angio- and nephropathies of the lower limbs” was prepared by the representative of Ukrainian Research Institute of Transport Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine PhD in Medicine V. S. Volianska.

Principles and methods of medical rehabilitation of persons with high levels of psychogenic stress were reported by Professor of the Department of Physical and Medical Rehabilitation, Head of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation of Ukrainian Research Institute of Transport Medicine O. V. Horsha.

 The Head of the Volyn Center for military events participants and members of their families and Head of the Department of Human Health and Physical Rehabilitation at Lesia Ukrainka Eastern European National University, Professor Yu. Ye. Lyakh presented the topic “Features of training specialists in physical therapy, ergotherapy in the conditions of classical university”, where he outlined his vision on this issue.

 Physical therapy and ergotherapy are aimed at creating new generations for international standards for designing modern medical rehabilitation systems in Ukraine. This topic was revealed in the report by Assistant of the Department of Physical Therapy, Ergotherapy and Physical Education of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University A. V. Bai.

Professor of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Medicine and Phthisiology of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University L. A. Hryshchuk presented a report “Rehabilitation of people with tuberculosis, modern problems”.

Assistant Professor of the Department of Paediatric Diseases with Paediatric Surgery at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University M. D. Protsailo noted that conservative treatment remains the main method for idiopathic congenital clubfoot in children.

The report “Application of arterial oscilloscopy to determine the functional reserves of the circulatory system in physical therapy” was presented by Associate Professor of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation of the I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University L. O. Vakulenko.

The topic “Modern tendencies of cryotherapy in rehabilitation practice” was discussed by Professor of the Department of Medical Rehabilitation of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University T. H. Bakaliuk.

Professor of the Department of Medical Informatics D. V. Vakulenko spoke about the innovative systems in physical and rehabilitation medicine.

The report “Correction of magnesium balance in medical rehabilitation and sanatorium treatment” was prepared by the representative of “Ecobiz” company O. A. Yanchuk, who stressed on a significant need for magnesium in a human organisms.

Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation of V. Stefanyk Precarpathian National University M. H. Aravitska presented the report “Determining the effectiveness of a non-drug correction program for morbid obesity”.

In her report on “Modern approaches to the appointment and conduct of massage in physical and rehabilitation medicine”, the Head of the Physiotherapy Department and Physical therapy room of Ternopil University Hospital N. Ya. Bryksa drew attention to the fact that rehabilitation services are gaining popularity these days.

At the plenary session, the conference participants presented a number of interesting reports.

The All-Ukrainian Scientific-Practical Conference “Perspectives on the Development of Medical and Physical Rehabilitation at Different Levels of Medical Care” has gathered for the third time scientists from all leading institutions implementing modern rehabilitation technologies and methods.

The Conference participants concluded that physical and medical rehabilitation field is ready for reform and the first steps on this path have already been made.
