TNMU is one of top three universities in Ukraine on the basis of the results of the pilot International Foundations of Medicine (IFOM) examination

On March 15, 2019, an international monitoring study of the quality of higher medical education was held. It was conducted as a pilot IFOM (International Foundations of Medicine) examination. This examination evaluates medical students’ competence in fundamental sciences.

The study was attended by 6275 fourth-year students from 19 higher educational institutions. Test tasks were written in Ukrainian. During four hours students were passing the exam simultaneously. 441 students of Ternopil National Medical University took part in the study.

The Ministry of Health of Ukraine received from the National Council of Medical Examiners (USA) reports on the results of the pilot international examination on the basic science.

Students of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University ranked first among representatives of other higher educational institutions with the least number of negative results. TNMU is among top three Ukrainian universities in terms of the most positive outcomes.
