TNMU Keeps Ranking First among Ternopil Universities in the Consolidated Rating

The educational information resource “Osvita.ua” recently published the consolidated rating of higher educational institutions of Ukraine for 2022. According to it, I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University ranks first among higher educational institutions of Ternopil region and thirteenth among 250 universities of Ukraine. As for the all-Ukrainian indicator, compared to 2019, it improved by 17 positions, when TNMU was in thirtieth place. Our university also took 4th place among Western Ukrainian higher education institutions.

The consolidated ranking of universities in 2022 covers the results of 250 institutions of higher education, and also contains 10 thematic sub-ratings: “The best classical universities of Ukraine”, “The best technical universities”, “The best agricultural universities”, “The best pedagogical universities”, “The best medical universities”, “The best art universities”, “The best private universities”, as well as “The best Kyiv universities”, “The best universities of the parts of Ukraine” and “The best universities of the regions”.

As in the ratings of previous years, the Consolidated rating of higher education institutions was compiled using the well-known rankings of the country’s universities: “Top-200 Ukraine”, “Scopus” and “EIA Score for contract form of study”, each of which uses important evaluation criteria. This year, during the formation of the rating table, trends in the development of Ukrainian education, which underwent changes due to the COVID-2019 pandemic and the full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation, were taken into account.

The results of the Scopus rating are based on the indicators of the Scopus database, which is a tool for tracking the citations of scientific articles published by an educational institution or its employees in scientific publications.

The rating “EIA score for the contract form of study” contains information about the indicators of the average score of the external evaluation of applicants who in 2021 were enrolled in universities for study in the contract form of study. This rating actually determines the leaders among educational institutions in which entrants expressed a desire to obtain higher education at their own expense.
