TNMU Organises “English Speaking Club”

In February 2024, English Speaking Club was opened at TNMU. It was initiated by the Head and teaching staff of the Department of Foreign Languages. During the first meeting, the Head of the Department Nadiya Fedchyshyn and teachers of the Department Nataliia Hantimurova and Tetiana Khvalyboha discussed with the students the possibilities of the Club’s development. The discussion was organised as an informal conversation. The organisers listened to the students’ suggestions regarding the topics of discussion and activities of the Club.

Environmental Protection was the topic of the second meeting of the Club. The students discussed important problems related to modern environmental threats, found out their causes and consequences, and each proposed their own ways to solve them. Special attention was paid to the discussion of the consequences of Russian military actions on the ecological situation in Ukraine.

Club members also watched a video about the implementation of legislation regulating environmental protection. Students discussed the experience of other countries in this matter, discussed the possibilities of implementing similar regulations in Ukraine.

The highlight of the event was an online meeting with a guest from the UK, who told the students not only about the peculiarities of environmental education in British schools and the culture of environmental protection in this country, but also shared information and her own ideas about the most diverse aspects of life in the UK.

After that, students relaxed by playing lexical games to strengthen the knowledge of lexical material on the topic.
