TNMU outlined areas of cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan

Alisher A. Kurmanov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Babur Rasulov, the Embassy Counsellor for Trade and Economy Affairs, visited I. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University as a part of a working visit to Ternopil region. Honourable guests met with the university administration.

Professor Mykhaylo Korda, the Rector of TNMU, noted that TNMU has been cooperating with Samarkand State Medical University, Urgench branch of Tashkent State Medical Academy, Tashkent State Dental Institute for a long time already.

Mykhaylo Mykhailovych added that today the program of double diplomas in Nursing specialty is successfully implemented jointly with the Samarkand State Medical Institute. In February 2021, it was agreed with Professor Rashid Ruzibayev, the director of the Urgench branch of the Tashkent State Medical Academy, to implement a program of double diplomas in Paramedic specialty. As a result of implementation of this educational project, graduates will receive two diplomas: Urgench branch of Tashkent State Medical Academy and Ternopil National Medical University, in case of completing the curricula of both institutions of higher education.

Mykhaylo Korda, the Rector of Ternopil Medical University, also presented to the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan university achievements, implementation of international scientific grant programs and educational projects.

Alisher A. Kurmanov, the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan suggested to develop a roadmap to expand the educational affairs of TNMU in Uzbekistan. He added that on one hand our university suggests a high quality education and is constantly developing, and on the other hand his homeland is in a stage of development and modernization of medicine. According to the ambassador, these two components are important factors for increasing the number of partners in Uzbekistan and expanding the cooperation.
