TNMU Professor participated in professional internship program in Georgia

Recently, Professor of the Department of Propedeutics of Internal Medicine and Phthisiology, Hryshchuk L. A. participated in a professional internship program and a project of a French-Ukrainian educational program in Georgia for Ukrainian health and pharmacy professionals.

The project was organized by the French non-governmental public organization Association of French-Ukrainian Cooperation in Health and Pharmacy (ASFUDS) together with the World Federation of Ukrainian Medicinal Societies. The purpose of the trip was to get acquainted with foreign models of health care, the work of medical institutions and the system of training of medical personnel in Georgia, to establish cooperation with foreign colleagues.

During the trip, Professort Hryshchuk had a chance to visit a number of medical and clinical institutions in Georgia. In particular, in the city of Tbilisi he got acquainted with the work of the First University Clinic of Tbilisi State Medical University.

The First University Clinic was established on March 25, 2015, with the use of the latest technologies. Its main priority was to improve students’ education, to teach them their practical skills, and to share their clinical experience.

More than 6,000 Georgian citizens, almost 2,000 foreign students are trained at the Clinic of Tbilisi State Medical University. The Clinic fully meets the educational requirements. It hosts up to 20 Clinical Departments with 5 lecture halls and 70 classrooms.

The University Clinic of Tbilisi State Medical University is focused on providing services that meet international standards of medicine. This is a clinical facility with 145 beds for in-patient treatment, equipped with up-to-date high standards of diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation technology, taught by renowned professors recognized in Georgia and abroad. They provide highly qualified health care to people in Georgia.

It presents a clinical base for 50 medical university teachers.

The clinic has all the prerequisites for mastering the clinical and academic skills that are required for current standard, clinical, epidemiological, and interdisciplinary research.

This institution offers the following services: emergency care, outpatient care, laboratory research, radiological and ultrasound diagnostics, therapy and interventional cardiology, traumatic orthopedics, ophthalmology, oncology, allergology, otolaryngology, neurology, neurology surgery, vascular surgery, urology, proctology, endocrinology, obstetrics-gynecology, sports medicine and rehabilitation, anesthesiology and resuscitation.

The visit to Batumi International University Hospital was also interesting.
