TNMU Ranks Third among Medical Universities by the Number of Submitted Applications

The work of the admissions committee of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University continues, but certain conclusions can already be drawn. Our university continues to occupy leading positions in the rankings and enjoy popularity among applicants. This is evidenced by the increase in the number of submitted applications. This year, as of August 26, 2022, 4,491 applications were received. Last year, the number of applications was 3,948. By the way, today TNMU ranks third among medical universities in terms of the total number of submitted applications.


2,074 applications were submitted for the training program “General Medicine”, of which 426 chose TNMU  as the first priority, and 392 – as the second priority. The licensed capacity is 362 places, of which 260 places are for the state-funded form of education.

As for the training program “Dentistry”, 765 applications were received. 82 applicants chose TNMU as their first priority, and 86 people chose it as their second priority. The license capacity of the program is 100 places, of which 7 are for the state-funded form of education.


236 people expressed their desire to study in the training program “Pharmacy”, of which 48 identified TNMU as the first priority, and 51 – as the second priority. The licensed capacity is 100 places, of which 20 are for the state-funded form of education.

There are 307 people who applied for the training program “General Medicine” for the second year (licensed capacity is 200 places), 109 people – “Dentistry” (licensed capacity is 100 places), 18 people – “Pharmacy” (licensed capacity is 10 places).

83 applicants apply for the educational and qualification level “Bachelor” in the training program “Paramedic”. The licensed capacity is 40 places, of which 20 are for the state-funded form of education.


86 people applied for the Bachelor degree program in “Nursing”. The licensed capacity is 35 places, of which 10 are for the state-funded form of education.

208 applications were received for the Bachelor of Physical Therapy training program. The licensed capacity is 45 places, of which 10 are for the state-funded form of education.


As for the Master’s degree on the basis of Bachelor’s degree, 72 people would like to study in the training program “Physical Therapy”. The licensed capacity is 50 places. 16 applications were received for the training program “Nursing” (license capacity is 10 places). 26 people applied for the “Public Health” (license capacity is 50 places).

It should be noted that until September 15, 2022, it is possible to send electronic applications for the Master’s degree in specialties “Public Health”, “Physical Therapy. Occupational Therapy”, “Nursing”. Enrolment will take place on September 23, 2022.


On August 29, the result of the rating for the state-funded form of education will be informed.
