TNMU representatives took part in a meeting with the Deputy Ministers of Health of Ukraine

The Deputy Ministers of Health of Ukraine discussed the development, prospects and problems of the medical field of Ternopil region and Ukraine with the heads of medical institutions of our region, heads of specialized departments and TNMU administration. The meeting was held on February 4, 2020 at Ternopil Regional State Administration as part of a joint regional tour of the Ministry of Health and the National Health Service of Ukraine.

Deputy Ministers of Health of Ukraine Dmytro Lufer and Iryna Shevchenko spoke in detail about the preparation of specialized medical care facilities for the second wave of transformation of the health care system. The event was attended by Deputy Head of Ternopil Regional State Administration Arsen Marchyshak, Head of the Healthcare Administration of Ternopil Regional State Administration Volodymyr Bohaichuk. I.Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University was represented by Rector, Professor Mykhailo Korda, Vice-Rector for Science and Education, Professor Arkadii Shulhai, Vice-Rector for Science, Education and Clinical Affairs, Professor Stepan Zaporozhan and Dean of the Postgraduate Training Faculty Associate Professor Roman Svystun.

TNMU Rector raised questions with the Deputy Ministers of Health regarding the development of mechanisms for registering scientific and pedagogical staff of clinical departments in the National Health Service of Ukraine and the possibility of continuing their participation in the treatment process at the clinical facilities of the University.

Dmytro Lufer assured that this mechanism will be developed in February to allow scientific and pedagogical staff to undertake clinical work in health care facilities. According to him, the Ministry of Health plans to develop several mechanisms, one of which will be discussed at the end of February this year and approved by the relevant order of the Ministry.
