TNMU Representatives Took Part in Workshops on Human Capital

On February 23-24, 2023, a meeting “Points of contact: medical education and practical medicine” was held in Lviv within the framework of the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Development of medical education”. During the workshops, the issues of the value of human capital in wartime and in the period of post-war reconstruction of the country were discussed. The special attention of all participants was focused on the dialogue between educators, developers of educational programs in institutions of higher education, doctors, nurses and employers.

The focus of the discussion was on the graduates of the medical universities, their competences, which are included in the training programs and the compliance of the latter with the modern requirements and expectations of employers. Competences that a person with bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing should possess in order to successfully and competitively find their position in the labour market were also discussed. The participants discussed topical issues regarding the training of nurses at the third level of higher education.

The meeting of educators, practicing doctors and employers became a platform for receiving feedback, searching and making decisions for changes in approaches to the development of training programs. The participants of the project from Ternopil National Medical University were the head of the department of general chemistry, head of the working group on medical education Hryhorii Zahrychuk, head of the department of pharmacology and clinical pharmacology, guarantor of the training program “Medicine” Oleksandra Oleschuk, director of the academic and research institute of nursing, guarantor of the training program of the second level of higher education in the specialty “Nursing” Svitlana Danchak, associate professor of the department of emergency medical care, project coordinator Oksana Sydorenko.
