TNMU scientists attended the XXXV Congress of the Polish Pediatric Society

On September 5-7, 2019, scientists of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University took part in the “XXXV Zjazd Polskiego Towarzhystwa Pediatrycznego” at the invitation of its organizer, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in Rzeszow University, Dr. hab., Professor Artur Mazur.

The congress became a platform for meeting pediatricians from many countries around the world. In total, more than 1,200 delegates from Poland, Ukraine, Europe, the United Kingdom, China arrived at the congress. The Ternopil region was represented by a large delegation of scientists and practitioners of the region.

The work was held in plenary, section sessions, workshops and discussions. In total, the congress program covered 32 plenary sessions, with 155 oral and 159 poster presentations, 7 workshops and 6 meetings with experts..

The congress program was rich and diverse, devoted to many topical issues of pediatrics – epidemiological peculiarities of the most common diseases at the present stage, therapeutic and preventive measures, with the account of the latest data on complex molecular, immune, pathological and genetic pathologies.

The congress focused on the latest recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal tract diseases. The report on modern methods of celiac disease diagnosis in children was of particular interest, and the discussion about the use of various forms of prebiotics, probiotics, symbiotics was exceptionally instructive. Many speakers raised the issues of feeding, eating habits in the family, obesity issues in the world.

Lectures by leading endocrinologists highlighted the features of the current endocrine pathology, the importance of timely diagnosis and treatment using the latest methods and devices, which were presented in detail during the master classes. An important issue of vaccination was covered by the speakers too: they provided up-to-date data on the possibility of prevention of the most threatening infections in children, presented the results of the latest clinical studies, discussed methods of vaccination of children with concomitant pathology. A number of reports were devoted to contemporary problems of cardio-rheumatology, pulmonology, allergology, nephrology, neonatology. The attention was focused on the latest recommendations for resuscitation in newborns, features of outpatient monitoring of infants of different gestational age, management of infectious pathology, modern methods of care for premature babies.
