TNMU scientists conducted advanced training courses for dermatovenerologists “Specific issues of dermatovenerology”

On October 15-28, 2019, scientists of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology, Skin and Venereal Diseases of I.Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University for the first time conducted conducted advanced training courses for dermatovenerologists “Specific Issues of Dermatovenerology”.

The courses were attended by the participants of the cycle were dermatovenereologists of Ternopil, Pochaiiv and Kremenets regional hospitals, Territorial Medical Association of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Communal Non-Commercial Enterprise “Public Health Center” and the private institution Venus + Apollon.

The problem of sebaceous diseases, psoriasis and rosacea was discussed by Doctor of Medicine, Professor Svitlana Halnykina.

PhD in Medicine, Associate Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology, Skin and Venereal Diseases Tetiana Shkrobot shared her own experience and the results of Ukrainian and world researches on diagnostics and treatment of inflammatory diseases of the skin, connected with abnormal humoral reactivity; urticaria and angioedema; erythema multiforme; Toxicoderma and pityriasis rosea.

Since autumn 2015, the staff of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology, Skin and Venereal Diseases of TNMU together with colleagues from Pope John Paul II State Higher School (Biała Podlaski, Poland) have started a joint Ukrainian-Polish epidemiological research project “Studies of epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinics and prevention of borreliosis” within the framework of European Union research projects. Associate Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology, Skin and Venereal Diseases of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University Mariia Shkilna reported on the importance of issues of Lyme-borreliosis, anaplasmosis, babesiosis and Bartonella in the practice of a dermatovenerologist.

The Department staff is planning to carry out similar advanced training courses not only for dermatovenereologists but also for specialists in other fields: pediatricians, infectious diseases specialists, laboratory workers and general practitioners and family medicine doctors.
