TNMU Scientists Took Part in the 3rd Congress with International Participation “Psychosomatic Medicine of the 21st Century: Realities and Prospects”

On November 4-6, 2022, scientists of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University took part in the 3rd Congress with international participation “Psychosomatic Medicine of the 21st Century: Realities and Prospects”. Due to the current situation in the country, the event organized by O. O. Bohomolets National Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, held in online format.

At the Congress, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology Olena Wenger presented to the audience a modern study on the topic “Peculiarities of psychosomatic disorders in migrant women”.

The audience’s interest was aroused by the report “Management model of PTSD with comorbidity of brain injury in modern realities” by PhD in Medicine, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology Olena Smashna.

At the Congress, the following poster presentations were presented: “Changes in the adaptive processes of first-year students in the conditions of hostilities in Ukraine” by PhD in Medicine, Associate Professor Lesia Sas, “Individual and psychological characteristics of participants in hostilities with non-psychotic mental disorders who suffered from COVID- 19” by Assistant Professor Marianna Koval and “Treatment of depression, anxiety and stress in internally displaced persons in Ukraine: method of biosuggestive therapy” by Assistant Professor Tetana Ivanitska.

Three days of intensive work of the Congress demonstrated great interest in the modern achievements of world science, which were presented by the best lecturers. The event was attended by psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, general practitioners, therapists, paediatricians, neurologists, endocrinologists, gynaecologists, cardiologists, gastroenterologists, oncologists, surgeons and specialists of other specialties who wanted to deepen their knowledge in the field of psychosomatic medicine.
