TNMU Students Gave a Lecture on Dangers of Smoking

Nowadays, the bad habit of smoking is widespread among various population groups. In order to prevent this from spreading among schoolchildren, the students of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University told Ternopil schoolchildren about the detrimental effects of smoking.

On April 5, 2024, first-year students of the Faculty of Medicine Diana Yavna, Kateryna Hrelia, Yana Rohulska and Iryna Prishchenko visited N. Yaremchuk Lyceum No. 6 and gave a lecture for the 5th-grade students on the topic “The influence of smoking on the young body”.

The students told the schoolchildren about the physiological (the impact of smoking on the development of the lungs, heart and other organs) and social (the relationship between smoking and social adaptation, relationships with others and social integration) consequences of smoking.

Future doctors also talked about prevention and education (strategies to prevent smoking among young people and the importance of education concerning the negative consequences of smoking).
