TNMU Students Flourished an Honorary Mission of St. Nicholas’ Assistants

For the most anticipated children’s holiday of winter – St. Nicholas Day, the volunteers of Ternopil National Medical University launched a campaign “Nicholas will not forget about you”, which raised funds for disadvantaged children to present them unforgettable emotions.

In total, the amount of UAH 34,325 was collected.

“We received 10 letters from children; they wrote their wishes and needs. After the fundraising the course responsible students bought the gifts ordered by the children,” said Oksana Pobihushka, the coordinator of the volunteer movement at TNMU.

On December 15, 2021, our volunteers visited Ternopil Special School of Ternopil Regional Council, where we presented gifts to 4 boys:

– Maksymko is an orphan, who lives in a boarding school; he really wanted a mobile phone, new pyjamas and underwear. The boy was very pleased with the gifts.

– Bohdan is a boy, who dreams of becoming a player of the PSG football team, he wanted sports shoes, uniforms and a sports bag.

– Olezhyk dreamed of repairing his laptop for himself and his sister and a computer chair.

– Vladyslav wants to be a football player in the future, so Mykolai presented the boy a soccer ball, a uniform and sports shoes.

The volunteer students visited the other children at home:

– Nastia is a girl raised by her grandmother. The girl also has diabetes and asked Mykolai for glycemic sensors Libre, a backpack, a sports suit, a hat and scarf, gloves, a hoodie.

– Denysko asked for a winter jacket, as his mother is unemployed and cannot afford to buy it, as well as a rubik cube, headphones and a Lego constructor.

– Ruslan, Zhenia, Roma, Nastia are all children of one family. They asked for a console, gloves, books, colouring books, pencils, markers, goalkeeper gloves, Barbie dolls, a soccer ball, and phone cases.

All children also received sweets and fruit as gifts.
