TNMU Students Gave Lectures on Seasonal Diseases

The peak period of various diseases is coming, so Ulyana Dyshko (group MM-304) and Ivan Lutsyk (group MM-308), the students of the Faculty of Medicine, organized a series of interactive lectures on “Season of (un) health”.

The audience were the pupils of the lyceums of Volyn region, i.e. junior and senior classes of Kniahynynivskyi Lyceum (Lutsk district), Vetlivskyi Lyceum (Kamin-Kashyrskyi district), Volyn scientific lyceum-boarding school (Lutsk). Also, such an event was held for visitors to the Youth Centre of Ternopil.

The participants received information about the factors of ARI transmission, effective means of prevention, as well as current problems of self-medication and antibiotic resistance. The speakers presented the latest medical science news on the subject, and repeatedly stressed the need for adequate communication with a family doctor.

It is important that both the youngest and older audience were active in discussion of the issues covered; they shared their experiences, made examples of popular mistakes of dangerous self-medication, irrational use of antibiotics etc.

Due to a challenging epidemiological situation, the events were held in a mixed format: some took place at the institutions, and some on-line.

The organizers express thanks to all who facilitated holding of these events.
