TNMU Students Organized Informative Lectures on HIV/AIDS

We all understands that the issue of high incidence of HIV/AIDS is urgent in our country. Every year on December 1, the World Day of Fighting against this Terrible Disease is celebrated. The team of students of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University did not stand aside. They managed to implement an informative project “Informative lectures for students on prevention and control of AIDS”. On December 1, 2021, two lecturers-organizers delivered 8 lectures for pupils of 9-11 forms in different schools of Ternopil.

So, Vladyslava Ostapchuk gave 2 lectures at school No. 5 in Ternopil. She also gave lectures at the city schools No. 24 and No. 4.

Vadym Ostapchuk taught the pupils of schools No. 20, 19, 28 and Classical Gymnasium. The lessons were held in the form of a dialogue, during which each pupil could ask any questions, such as: Have there been cases of complete cure for HIV? How long can people with AIDS live? How can a human get infected with immunodeficiency virus? How is a person diagnosed with AIDS? Where is HIV tested in Ternopil? The students also talked about prevention, ways of transmission, the impact of the virus on the body immune system, signs of the disease and myths about the disease. Future physicians willingly answered these questions and gave a scientifically sound explanation of each issue of the lecture. The pupils were very satisfied and listened to the lecturers with interest. We hope that this project was useful for pupils and the information they heard will surely benefit, thereby reducing the statistics of AIDS patients in the future.
