TNMU Students Take Care of the Residents of the “St. Veronica House of Mercy”

The nuns of the “St. Veronica’s House of Mercy” and their wards – elderly women who were left without care in difficult life circumstances – always welcome the visits of representatives of Ternopil National Medical University, because they all need sincere communication.

Physical therapy students of the second year of study under the guidance of teachers of the Department of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physical Education and the third-year student Solomia Hyz regularly went to the “House of Mercy” in order to improve the physical and psycho-emotional condition of the residents. In total, 5 trips were made, during which the future physical therapists worked on the development of fine motor skills of the hands, did massage, trained coordination of movements and reduced pain syndrome.

It is important to note that this project is ongoing. The students plan to expand the circle of those who are ready to carry out this important mission.

The information was provided by Solomia Hyz.
