TNMU Students Taught Pre-schoolers the Fundamentals of Exercising

“Exercising and its need in everyday life” was the topic of the lecture on December 8, 2021 delivered by Yaryna Stepaniuk and Tetiana Stepaniuk, the students of TNMU, to the pupils of Ternopil institution of preschool education No. 3.

The raising doctors think that children should be physically active for at least 60 minutes a day: brisk walking, cycling, gymnastics and push-ups are some of the best activities.

The meeting of students with pre-schoolers consisted of three parts.

The first part was theoretical; the girls talked about the need for exercising. They also discussed the benefits of physical education for the body and the main groups of exercises that must be performed daily:

– warm-up (slow walking, brisk walking and running);

– exercises to prevent scoliosis (walking on toes and heels, squats against the wall);

– exercises to strengthen the muscles of the back (alternate and simultaneous bending of the legs in the knee joints, alternate lifting of straight legs);

– exercises to increase the overall tone of the child’s body (sports games and ball games).

During the second part of the meeting, the children actively participated in the implementation of the exercises suggested and showed the training they do at home with their parents.

The third part consisted of a quiz, during which the child guessed riddles and thus consolidated the knowledge gained.
