TNMU Students Told Pupils about Diabetes

After the first stage of the diabetes education campaign, which took place on November 15, the representatives of the Pakistan-Ternopil Student Federation and the students of Ternopil National Medical University visited almost 18 schools within the second stage of the diabetes education campaign. They disseminated informational materials and posters to school principals describing the symptoms and methods of prevention of type 1 diabetes (mostly in children). Viktoria Furdela, Associate Professor of the Department of Pediatrics No. 2, assisted them in preparing the materials.

Volunteers also discussed with health professionals of each school important aspects of caring for children with diabetes and raising awareness among children with diabetes and their parents to ask for medical assisstance in cases of any symptoms.

Viktoria Furdela, Associate Professor of Pediatrics No.2, i the head of the Children’s School of Diabetes in Ternopil and Natalia Sapsay, Head of the City Branch of the NGO “Dia-House Ternopil” for parents of children with diabetes also joined the volunteers.
