TNMU Students Told Ternopil Schoolchildren about the Specifics of Emergency Care in Wartime Conditions

On February 22, 2024, Bohdan Yurchenko and Maria Brona (group MM-111), first-year students of TNMU Faculty of Medicine, with the assistance of R.B. Kotsiuba, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages. organized an educational conversation for eighth-grade students of Ternopil Lesya Ukrainka School – Medical Lyceum No. 15.

The lesson was devoted to emergency aid in wartime conditions, in particular, the future medics talked about applying bandages to different parts of the body. Schoolchildren had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the theoretical material, which was immediately applied during the practical part.

The students realized that, despite their age, the ability to provide emergency aid is their duty in wartime conditions. In this regard, they took great responsibility for training and mastered the following practical skills: a “cap” bandage, a cross-shaped bandage on the back of the head, a Dezo bandage, a spiral bandage on the chest.

The topic of desmurgy interested the students so much that they expressed an open desire not to stop there and asked to come more often in order to replenish their practical skills that are quite relevant today.

The information was provided by R.B. Kotsiuba.
