TNMU Volunteer Centre Expresses Its Deepest Appreciation to Its Partner Timo Ulrichs

On September 5, 2022, the Volunteer Centre of Ternopil National Medical University received humanitarian aid from a long-term partner of our university, Professor Timo Ulrichs (Akkon University, Berlin, Germany, https://www.akkon-hochschule.de). Medicines and medical supplies were purchased and donated by the Evangelische Kirchengemeinde Berlin-Kaulsdorf (Germany, https://www.kirche-kaulsdorf.de/).

It is inspiring that German supporters took into account the wishes of military hospitals and our defenders and purchased what they asked for. The package contained a lot of dressing materials, bandages, medical gloves and masks, painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs, broad-spectrum antibiotics, and many others. The TNMU Volunteer Centre expresses its heartfelt appreciation for this care and desire to help Ukraine. We sincerely appreciate the many years of cooperation with Professor Timo Ulrichs.

Many joint scientific conferences, webinars, and symposia were held on his initiative and participation. Timo Ulrichs shared his experience and knowledge with the participants of the 14th International Student Summer Schools. He gave lectures and held a number of workshops on public health, health care systems in different countries, repeatedly lectured for students of Ternopil Medical University.

Thanks to his initiative, in 2020, the Third International Ukrainian-German Symposium “Public Health in the Global and Regional Space – Challenges in the Conditions of the COVID-19 Pandemic and Development Prospects” was held at Ternopil National Medical University. It was organized and held jointly with Akkon University of Human Sciences in Berlin with the support of the German Federal Ministry of Health. A series of German-Ukrainian webinars dedicated to the fight against COVID-19 and world and Ukrainian health care systems’ response to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic was organized by the joint efforts of TNMU and Akkon University of Human Sciences (Germany).
