TNMU Volunteer Centre Purchased and Handed Over Thermal Coolers for the Military Evacuation Teams

On December 8, 2022, the Volunteer Centre of Ternopil National Medical University handed over five powerful thermal coolers for the evacuation teams of military doctors who transport the wounded from the battlefield to hospitals. Doctors and paramedics store saline solutions, blood substitutes and other medicines in these refrigerators. According to military doctors, thanks to such equipment, the loss of human lives is reduced by 30%. Five evacuation teams will be equipped with these devices.

Furthermore, the TNMU Volunteer Centre purchased and handed over professional scissors, which can be used to easily cut several layers of clothing and berets. According to military doctors, this significantly saves time in case of massive bleeding. In such cases, the medical team has only 15-20 seconds to effectively apply a tourniquet and remove a wounded person from the battlefield as quickly as possible. The quick cutting of the boots in the event of a foot injury makes it possible to remove the shoes with minimal traumatic consequences and painlessly.

Moreover, at the request of the evacuation teams, the Volunteer Centre of TNMU formed a consignment of medicines and medical supplies.

All this was transferred to the Donetsk and Luhansk directions of the front line.
