TSMU choir preformed traditional Ukrainian carols for students and staff
For the second year in a row Ternopil State Medical University choir wished everyone happy New Year and Merry Christmas performing a concert of traditional carols. The choir includes lecturers and students, who rehearse for months leading to the winter holidays, and then visit TSMU and other organizations to sing and collect donations for charitable causes. The choristers began their rounds on 18 January. They have received warm welcome in TSMU buildings, Ternopil Regional State Administration, and hospitals of the city.
Region governor Stepan Barna liked the performance of Chistmas carols and greetings so much he has invited the choir to participate in traditional Christmas supper held for the National Guard of Ukraine in Ternopil. Our choristers presented a recital of Ukrainian ritual Chrismas and New Year songs wishing everyone prosperity and happiness in the year ahead.
Thanking the choir for their performance, TSMU Rector Professor Mykhaylo Korda said that working to promote Ukrainian culture and its musical heritage in today’s world is a noble cause, and our choir makes a valuable contribution towards this goal.
All donations collected during performances the choir will direct to help those having to spend winter holidays in hospitals, especially children.
