TSMU Interns Trained at Canadian Clinics

In March the resident doctor in Orthopedics and Traumatology of Ternopil State Medical University Taras Voloshyn trained at the Departments of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the clinics Foothills Medical Centre (trauma center level I) and Peter Lougheed Centre (trauma center level II) in Calgary (Canada).

During the training he got acquainted with the Surgery Unit, Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology and Admission Department of both clinics.

During the training he got acquainted with surgical techniques of foot reconstructive surgery, large joints replacement, metal osteosynthesis of fractures of various localization and arthroscopic surgeries.

He had the opportunity to meet and spend a few days in the operating room with the leading expert of modern traumatology and teacher Professor Richard Buckley. He trained several generations of highly skilled orthopedists, wrote several textbooks on foot surgery, which are widely used all over the world. Despite his age, he performs 5-6 surgeries a day, carries on 15 clinical trials and travels around the world and leads courses.

During the training he also met many colleagues and looks forward to further cooperation and experience exchange with them.
