The Olympiad had three rounds, and took place at ONMU Department of Infectious Diseases. During the first round students had to answer 40 multiple-choice questions. The second stage consisted of five complex descriptive tasks to identify the following: diagnosis of the disease, methods of diagnosis, basic principles of treatment and prevention measures. The third stage of the competition was dedicated to practical work with the patients hospitalized in Odessa City Infectious Diseases Hospital (taking history, performing physical examination, assigning laboratory and instrumental tests and interpreting them, processing medical records and prescribing medications). This stage was very interesting because some of the diseases were rare ones.
