Ukrainian Charity Fair in Twickenham from TNMU Partners

Halyna Kosynska, International Assistance Headquarters for Ukrainians, Ukrainian Restaurant “Prosperity” (London), volunteers and caring citizens of Great Britain were among those who were the first to send help to the Volunteer Centre of Ternopil National Medical University. They did not stop their charitable activities for a moment and still continue to support Ukraine. On August 28, 2022, the suburb of London, the town of Twickenham, turned into a picturesque Ukrainian land. A charity festival dedicated to the Independence Day of our country was held here, which was organized by Alina Luts together with volunteers with the support of the Prosperity restaurant. More than 300 Ukrainians attended this event.

Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain Vadym Prystaiko together with his wife, Mayor Julia Cambridge and Councillor Gareth Roberts congratulated those present, emphasizing the indomitability of the Ukrainian spirit, resilience and special love for their Motherland, which is felt far beyond its borders.

The funds collected at the festival will be used for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For the auction, teachers and students of TNMU collected traditional Ukrainian souvenirs, embroidery and other things to help raise as much money as possible for our defenders. The Head of the Department of Educational Work and Cultural Development Marta Rudenko and student Oleksandra Chetvertak were engaged in collecting what could be presented as valuable lots at the auction. It should be noted that the university community actively responded to this call. In addition, the initiative was supported by the “Embroidery Gallery” shop, the owners of which provided embroided dresses, necklaces and other things. The teachers of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation, Human Health and Physical Education, led by Professor Daria Popovych, additionally purchased necklaces, embroidered tablecloths, and many other things.

Let us note the coordinated and clear work of the Ukrainian diaspora in Britain. Especially for this holiday, confectioner Halyna Kobryn baked a cake in national colors and using Ukrainian symbols. Everyone tasted it during the charity festival for the Independence Day of Ukraine.

A concert was also organized to popularize Ukrainian songs and art.

“On behalf of our restaurant, I would like to thank the Embassy of Ukraine in Great Britain, the Ambassador of Ukraine in Great Britain Vadym Prystaiko, the Mayor of Richmond Julia Cambridge and Councillor Gareth Roberts, the representatives of “Prosperity Ukrainian Social Club” Alina Luts and Maria Kurianova, Donations Han, the dance group “Stefaniya” , singers Leonid Hrychanyi and Yaroslav Shpyrko.
