TNMU Lecturer Took Part in the Operational Group on the Analysis of Curricula and Trainings in Public Health
Natalia Terenda, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Health and Health Management of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University took part in the on line session of the Operational Group on the analysis of curricula and trainings in public health on December 10, 2020.
The event was supported by the Public Health Centre of the Ministry of Health within the project “Support to Ukraine in development of a modern public health system” funded by the EU and implemented in Ukraine by the GFA Consulting Group GmbH consortium and the Social Insurance Institution of Finland.
International project experts took part in the meeting: Professor Tiina Laatiikainen, the Head of the WHO Joint Centre for Noncommunicable Disease Prevention, Health Promotion and Monitoring in Finland, and Mr. Olaf Horstich, the Associate Professor, Senior Project Expert for Development of Public Health Training Modules. The experts presented a detailed overview of national public health curriculum (master’s degree, bachelor’s degree) and presented recommendations for their improvement according to the core competencies of public health professionals developed by the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER).
Mykhailo Riabinchuk, the Head of the Department for Coordination of Curricula, Professional Competences and Communications of the Public Health Centre of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, noted the main tasks and goals of the project and outlined the plans for future cooperation in improvement of public health curricula and trainings.
The leading public health researchers discussed revision of the curricula competencies according to ASPHER recommendations as well as the Unified state qualifying exam, Step 2.
