Ternopil Schoolchildren Learned about the Profession of a Pharmacist

Choosing a profession is a rather responsible step in the life of every person, therefore early learning about possible jobs and higher education institutions gives an opportunity to choose the career path that will bring you joy and purpose. The earlier schoolchildren get to know the specifics of each profession, the more consciously they choose their future career.

In order to give students an understanding of pharmacy as such, the Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy and Medical Botany, Professor Svitlana Marchyshyn, initiated career guidance work at the Faculty of Pharmacy with pupils of Ternopil schools, during which she talks about the medicinal properties of plants, their use in pharmacognosy and much more.

On May 8, 2023, TNMU was visited by Svitlana Kurylo, a Methodist teacher of the highest category, Marta Hrabovetska, a teacher’s assistant, and students of the 6th grade of Ternopil School No. 24.

Svitlana Marchyshyn spoke about the basics of studying the medicinal properties of plants, the role of a pharmacist in preserving and restoring people’s health. Associate professors of the Department of Management and Economics of Pharmacy and Drug Technology, Olena Pokotylo and Tetiana Diadun, organized a tour around the educational pharmacy of the Faculty of Pharmacy of TNMU, and told the schoolchildren about the professional duties of a pharmacist.

The schoolchildren had many questions about which plants can be used to treat colds, and they were interested in learning the basics of the work of a pharmacist and a pharmacist’s assistant.
