TNMU Students Told Young People about the Dangers of Smoking

Smoking of electronic and regular cigarettes is an extremely pressing and urgent problem that requires special attention. Therefore, young people need additional educational activities in this regard. During the academic semester, 5th-year students of TNMU Faculty of Medicine, Adriana Humeniuk (MM-511) and Viktoria Lehka (MM-509) organized a series of lectures on the topic “Effect of electronic and regular cigarettes on the body”.

Meetings with schoolchildren and students took place at Ternopil Secondary School No. 5, Academic Lyceum “Ivan Franko Ukrainian Gymnasium”, Viacheslav Chornovil Halytskyi College, with total number of 166 people participating in the events.

Schoolchildren and students had the opportunity to learn more about the differences between regular and electronic cigarettes, their impact on various systems of our body. The consequences of smoking as a bad habit in general were emphasized.

At the end, the students of the medical university gladly answered all the questions that the listeners had. The lecture aroused their curiosity and, we hope, made them think. In the future, it is planned to continue educational activities among the young people of Ternopil.

The information and photographs were provided by Viktoria Lehka.
