International Children’s Day at TNMU Mental Health Centre

On June 3, 2024, an event on the occasion of International Children’s Day was held at TNMU Mental Health Centre, which was attended by the Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Narcology and Medical Psychology, Professor Olena Venger and intern psychiatrists.

An entertaining holiday evening was organized for younger and teenage children. The children took part in creative workshops, played pantomime, competed for sweet prizes and spent time playing games. Also, the participants were involved in art therapy and drew their dream.

For older children, the organizers of the holiday taught grounding and mindfulness techniques in order to stabilize the psychological state, reduce the level of anxiety and tension.

All children had a wonderful opportunity to immerse themselves in childhood, have fun, be accepted and hugged. They received positive emotions and impressions, which are extremely necessary for rehabilitation and improvement of the psychological state in the conditions of war.

“The International Children’s Day celebration in our Centre was bright and exciting. We have prepared events to support children’s mental health. This day left unforgettable impressions in the hearts of children and gave them many positive emotions. Our events helped children to open up, feel supported and strengthen their social skills. The main goal of the holiday is to support children’s mental health, give them the opportunity to express themselves creatively, and help develop social skills and self-confidence! We appreciate and thank everyone who participated!”, said Mental Health Centre specialist Yulia Venher.

The information was provided by intern psychiatrists Tetiana Katnytska and Viktoria Drahan.
