TNMU Hosted LXVII Research and Training Conference “Achievements of Clinical and Experimental Medicine”
On June 13-14, 2024, the concluding LXVII research and training conference dedicated to the 170th anniversary of Ivan Horbachevsky “Achievements in Clinical and Experimental Medicine” was held at I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.
The conference was organized in a mixed format. At first, the reports were delivered online. After that, the young scientists presented their accomplishments live in the administrative building of the University.

Traditionally, university scientists reported on their achievements during breakout sessions in the following areas:
“Innovations in the higher medical school, review and analytical works”
“Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Psychiatry and Neurology”




“Surgery, oncology, orthopaedics and traumatology”

«Achievements of modern dentistry”

“Protection of motherhood and child”, where obstetricians, gynaecologists and paediatricians presented their research


“Experimental medicine, morphology in normal and pathological conditions, achievements of modern pharmacy”



The plenary session was opened by TNMU Vice-Rector for Research, Professor Ivan Klishch, who delivered the welcome speech of the Rector of TNMU, Professor Mykhaylo Korda. He noted that the organization of annual concluding conferences at the end of the academic year is a tradition of Ternopil National Medical University.

Three reports were delivered at the plenary session. Assistant Professor of the Department of Therapy and Family Medicine Iryna Halabitska spoke on the topic “Influence of comorbid diseases on the exocrine function of the pancreas in patients with osteoarthritis”. Associate Professor of the Department of Paediatrics No. 2 Tetiana Kovalchuk – delivered a report “Syncope in children: clinical-pathogenetic and social-psychological aspects of the course, optimization of diagnostic, treatment and prophylactic measures”. Associate Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology Taras Piatkovskyi presented his report “Ozone as a means of disinfection of food products (using the example of spinach leaves) and water”.



During the event, the participants summarized the results of the clinical, theoretical and experimental scientific achievements of our employees in the 2023-2024 academic year and noted the achievements in the organization of the scientific work of the university units.




At the end of the conference, Professor Ivan Klishch summed up the work, thanked all the participants of the conference for their effective and creative work, wished them success in their research and professional achievements, as well as the victory for our country.
