TNMU Joined the Opening of a Children’s Art Exhibition and the Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Hub “Unity” in London

On May 6, 2025, the opening of an exhibition of drawings by orphans and schoolchildren from the front-line territories of Donetsk region “Children Against War” took place at the premises of the London branch of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University (TNMU) in the United Kingdom.

The event was organized by the International Institute of Women’s Folk Diplomacy of Ukraine in Belgium in partnership with TNMU and with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
“The exhibition features 25 drawings by Ukrainian children about the Russian-Ukrainian war. All these works were submitted by children from the front-line territories of Donetsk region thanks to a member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mr. Vasyl. In a child’s eyes, war always looks the same. Regardless of time or place, it is a great evil — and children are always its victims. The drawings on display are deeply touching testimonies of war through the eyes of children,” said Lyudmyla Onofryiese, founder and head of the NGO “Institute of Women’s Folk Diplomacy.”

The exhibition will be open daily until May 29, 2025, after which it will be displayed in Brussels. Visitors are welcome at the following address: 3 Boyd St, London E1 1FQ.

In addition, on May 6, a formal opening ceremony was held for the Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Hub “Unity”, which was created with the support of the TNMU team. The event was attended by delegations from Ukraine and Belgium, as well as representatives of governmental and business structures of the United Kingdom. This project aims to support Ukraine and Ukrainians forced to flee due to the war, and to promote Ukrainian culture.

The organizing team expresses sincere gratitude to the Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom, Anna Kryzhanivska from the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and to Kateryna Kotsiubivska and Olena Tymoshenko.

The project was carried out by the International Institute of Women’s Folk Diplomacy of Ukraine in Belgium and Edukare International Limited.
