From December 3 to 23, 2025, Ternopil National Medical University hosted advanced professional development courses entitled “Patterns of the Development of a Lecturer’s Pedagogical Mastery” for the academic and teaching staff of TNMU. The course was curated by the Head of the Department of Ukrainian Language, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences and Professor Anatolii Vykhrushch, and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language, Nadiia Oliinyk.
The course program was designed for 3 ECTS credits (equivalent to 90 hours). Classes were conducted online using the Microsoft Teams platform. More than 90 lecturers diligently attended the sessions, participated in discussions, completed assignments, and actively worked to improve their qualifications, enhance their pedagogical mastery, and acquire new knowledge, skills, and abilities in teaching practice.

During friendly meetings, Professor Anatolii Vykhrushch shared his pedagogical experience with the participants, introduced them to the latest publications in pedagogical research, innovative teaching technologies, and the possibilities of their implementation in the educational process of a higher medical education institution. Participants had the opportunity to analyze and discuss various pedagogical situations and receive competent answers to their questions.
Together with Nadiia Oliinyk, the participants discussed the concept of pedagogical mastery, directions of its development in Ukraine and worldwide, and the components that shape a successful educational process. They outlined the role and place of academic teaching staff in a modern higher education institution, forms of interaction with students during classes and extracurricular activities, ways of building a lecturer’s image and personal pedagogical brand, online presence, and other related topics.

All the knowledge, abilities, and skills acquired during the course will be applied by the participants in their teaching activities and in interaction with students and colleagues. They will feel more confident during the accreditation of educational programs and will continue to work on self-improvement and personal development.
